Our Latest “Royal” Addition: Meet Sally King
Bonjour! Hola! Hello! My name is Sally King and I am the new social associate for Environmental Action. I am so pumped to be working with such an amazing team of environmentalists fighting to protect our planet.
Born and raised in Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes, also birth place of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Prince, and the tater tot hot-dish. Growing up in Minneapolis, I have always been passionate about protecting the environment. Fun fact: Minneapolis has been voted one of the world’s cleanest cities and #1 bicycle friendly city.
With a background in journalism, I have covered a variety of environmental stories while working for different publications including The Olive Press and National Geographic. I have covered important stories from fracking issues in northern Minnesota, to enforcing eagle protection laws in southern Spain, to environmentally friendly dairy farming in Wisconsin. I also worked in the second congressional district for Al Franken for Senate 2014 as part of the digital media and communications team, where I worked with the MN DFL, regional organizing directors, field organizers, volunteers and supporters to develop stories about the campaign.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism with a minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, which has had a history of leadership on environmental sustainability-based initiatives among universities across the upper midwest.
In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, traveling and drinking lots of coffee; and a bit of a news and political junkie.
I am so very excited and looking forward to working with everyone. You can contact me at any time at sally {at} environmental-action.org with questions or ideas or connect with me on Twitter @SallysKingdom.
