Calling on Cuomo

Calling on Cuomo

Yesterday the stars were aligned for an awesome rally at the midtown Manhattan offices of Governor Andrew Cuomo. Even the weather acted in protest to the forecast of low temperatures and rain, instead providing 100 fracktivists with clear blue skies and sunshine. This certainly contributed to the lifted spirits of the fracktivists who convened in front of the governor’s office — some dressed in costume, some bringing props and many holding signs to deliver a message to Andew Cuomo: Veto Port Ambrose Now and Keep Fracked Gas Out of New York.

Even the New York Police Department had our backs. Many of the officers who were on the scene told us that they live in Long Island, where the Port Ambrose LNG import project would be located off its coast, that they would not want their kids exposed to the dangers of fracked gas catastrophe. It was an amazing event to say the least, but rather than reading my take on, please click the image below to see what went down for yourself.

Thank you so much to the many of you who took action and chipped in to help create artwork and transport people to various events. Rallies like these would not be possible without you. Please stay tuned as there is more work to be done to keep fracked gas out of New York. If you have not done so, you can add your name to the thousands of signatures we have collected calling on Andrew Cuomo to veto this perilous project.

In the meantime, please have an amazing Earth Day and know that the fight to protect our mother, our only home and our communities continues.

Happy Earth Day
