In an effort to make up for the budget shortfall in, Gov. Schwarzenegger is proposing closing 220 of the 279 state parks in California - a move that would net them .3% of the missing funds.

Gov. Schwarzenegger,

 I'm writing today to ask that you not close 220 parks throughout California. State parks offer a critical sanctuary for people to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and are a critical part of a healthy society.
