Obama Administration To Review Mountaintop Removal Mining Permits

One of Environmental Action’s top priorities is banning mountaintop removal mining. This form of mining has decimated Appalachia—leveling over 500 mountains and choking off hundreds of miles of streams and waterways.

A look at offshore drilling: Oil and water don't mix

In 2009, a burst pipe in an offshore rig in the Timor Sea dumped nearly 9 million gallons of oil into the water—making it almost as large a spill as the Exxon Valdez spill. In 2007, a tanker got into an accident in San Francisco Bay, spilling close to 60,000 gallons of oil into the bay.
