America's dependence on oil is one of our greatest threats. Every barrel of oil we burn fuels global warming--heating the planet further. With less than 2 percent of the world's remaining oil, the United States is at the mercy of other countries. While the price of oil may fluctuate, the costs are always high. Repowering AmericaEnvironmental Action fully endorses and embraces the goals of Repower America, and their plan to repower America with 100% clean energy in the next ten years. We believe one of the critical first steps in making that happen is to double our national gas mileage standard to 55mpg.
