We’re working to protect the planet and all of us who happen to live on it. We envision a world without pollution – where people and all the other species can live happily together in balance.
We’ve got a long way to go to get there - but we know that people are the solution. Human actions created smog, water pollution, climate change and more. And human actions can and must undo that damage and create a sustainable future.

Here are some of the big issues we're working on. At the end of each section are links you can follow to take ACTION and protect the planet.

End Big Oil

Oil causes most of the pollution in America, and around the world. The companies behind the drilling, refining, pipe-lining and sale of oil are making record profits. And the rest of us are paying more and more money for more and more pollution.

We didn't get here by accident. The Big Oil companies have invested billions in lobbying and campaigns to keep us dependant on this dirty fuel. That's why they still collect $41 billion in tax breaks and subsidies every year. And that's why politicians of all stripes are calling for more drilling and spilling - even though there are cleaner alternatives sitting on the shelf, ready to be used.

Our lead campaign is to break big oil's control over our lives and create a future where there is no more drilling, no more spilling, and no more use of oil products of any kind. One place to start is by ending the subsidies and tax breaks to big oil - there's no reason we should give tax-payer money to polluters. Another is to ban drilling in the handful of places where it's not already happening - like the arctic.

Stop Global Warming

Climate change is the single biggest problem in the world. Next to a nuclear war, there’s nothing so likely or so devastating that could befall the planet, and all of us who live on it.

The solutions we need are big, but we know that they are possible. If a majority of Americans took climate change as seriously as they do international terrorism, for example, it wouldn’t be a question of “can we solve this in time” it would be a question of “should oil industry executives have rights, or just be shipped to Guantanamo”?

Our vision is of a world spared from climate change. A growing, prosperous global economy where no more fossil fuels are burned and the idea of wasting energy is as outlandish and visceral as the idea of throwing away hundred dollar bills today.

To get there, we have to start by demanding the TRUTH about global warming from our leaders - too many of whom still deny the basic science and real threats of climate change. We also need to shut down new kinds of fossil-fuel extraction like Fracking for natural gas and mining Tar Sands for oil. And we need real options that everyone can take to reduce energy use.
