Despite Progress, We Have a Clean Air Crisis in the U.S.
Currently more than half a million Americans live where the air is too unhealthy to breath. Air pollution triggers asthma attacks, and makes breathing difficult for people suffering from other like ailments. Additionally, air pollution in the form of haze wrecks our cities skylines.
We Need Cleaner Cars
A few years ago, California adopted the 'Clean Cars Program' which allows state agencies to address auto emission issue. More than a dozen other states adopted the rule, but under President Bush the EPA blocked the program.
Thankfully, President Obama ordered the EPA, under Lisa Jackson, to review the rule, and the previous administration's decision, and are moving forward to grant California the waiver.
