Yesterday, I sent out an action alert asking people to get in touch with President Obama -- and ask him to stop supporting nukes, oil, and coal, in favor of renewable energy like wind and solar power.

Poking around the internets this AM, I discovered that the state of Kentucky has taken the bold stand of passing a non-binding resolution "asking coal companies to plant pollen-producing vegetation when they finish" blowing up and leveling mountains.

As NBC has been broadcasting the Olympics, one aspect has become shockingly clear. Despite the irony that our dependence on coal and oil has helped speed up global warming, causing there to be worry whether there'd be enough snow in Vancouver to satisfy the needs of the games, NBC is flooding the airwaves with ads from the fossil fuel industry.

There's been a lot of talk about Himalayan Glaciers lately. Turns out the award-winning 2007 IPCC report on global warming had a factual error, and now the climate change deniers are having a field day.

I know the Atlantic Monthly isn't 'The Nation' or anything, but their recent pro-nuke article -- combined with the multiple billion dollar loan guarantee to the nuclear industry to build the first new nuclear plant in the U.S. in over three decades -- has got me thinking about nukes.

For a few days now I've been thinking about writing up a well-reasoned blog about the snowstorms in DC. Because, you see, folks like Sarah Palin & Fox News keep having reports about how this storm must disprove global warming's existence.
