As NBC has been broadcasting the Olympics, one aspect has become shockingly clear. Despite the irony that our dependence on coal and oil has helped speed up global warming, causing there  to be worry whether there'd be enough snow in Vancouver to satisfy the needs of the games, NBC is flooding the airwaves with ads from the fossil fuel industry. 

The coal industry is pouring money into convincing the public that coal can be clean -- by the way, I've made a vow to never put the word 'clean' in front of the word 'coal' ever again, as it only helps get their bogus message out there. 

Of course, we don't have the money to buy ads during the Olympics, but next week we will kick off our effort to get NBC to dump coal. Have a great weekend!
