Oil Spill in Texas
Posted by Dan Stafford on 2010-01-25

It never ceases to amaze me that whenever the oil drilling debate heats up, there's an oil spill proving that anyone calling oil drilling 'safe' or 'environmentally sound' is either lying or crazy.

Over the weekend, a tanker and a tug collided in the Sabine-Naches waterway, ripping a hole in the tanker that dumped as much half a million gallons of oil into the waterway.

It could take weeks to discover the full effect of the spill, but no matter how it shakes out, the fact that we're seeing spills like this every single year certainly seems to us to be reason enough to get rid of offshore oil drilling, and the transport of oil through our nation's waterways.
