Now It's Up to the Senate
Posted by Dan Stafford on 2009-12-30

With a non-binding agreement coming out of the Copenhagen climate summit, it's up to the U.S. Senate to make the U.S. falls in line on climate change.

Take a minute right now and e-mail your senators, and ask them to stand strong on climate change, and to work for an 80% reduction in our CO2 emissions by 2050.

It was a great gesture to have President Obama fly to Copenhagen to meet with world leaders and discuss ways to get out of the climate quagmire we find ourselves in.

But without political action from the Senate, that gesture will be hallow and meaningless.

We both know that the United States -- as the world's largest emitter of CO2 -- needs to take action if we expect the world to follow suit. So tell your senators that we need to put a cap on our carbon emissions, immediately.

After you send your email, pass this message along to your friends and family, and invite them to participate. And thanks for helping out.
