In testimony this week, the two people who served as Secretary of the Interior under President Bush, stated that they were shocked an oil spill the size of the BP disaster could have happened. 

Which is either a colossal lie, or proof that former Secretaries of State Kempthorne and Norton are completely self-delusional. You can read the report on their testimony here. 

I'm not sure what they're thinking, but they basically confessed that the biggest priority during the Bush years was figuring out how to get more drilling immediately. 

Beyond that, they claimed that all offshore drilling has been safe and accident free since the 1969 spill off the coast of Santa Barbara. 

Truly crazy stuff.
